Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve

Many of the activities, programs and classes at the Reserve are initiated, planned, implemented  and supported by the Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve. Today, without the help of the Friends, BCR would be unable to maintain its facilities. The Friends also operates the Nature Store, pays all or part of the salaries of most of the staff, and spearheads the Reserve's fund-raising activities. Many members of our Friends group also serve as volunteer naturalists, receptionists and public relations advocates. Simply put, without our Friends, the Reserve as you know it would not be able to exist.

Benefits of being a Friend of Beaver Creek include:

  • Complimentary admission to the Nature Center and hiking trails.
  • A subscription to Woodprints, your source for information about the activities and programs at the Reserve.
  • Reduced admission to classes, programs and activities at the Reserve.
  • A 10 percent discount on all purchases at the Nature Store book and gift shop.
  • A complimentary copy of the very popular Beaver Creek Reserve nature calendar. Go green - we'll email your newsletter instead of mailing it via the U.S. Postal service.
  • Reduced rental fees on cross country skis and snowshoes. (Adult and child sizes avaiable)
  • Invitations to the Friends annual meeting and other special Friends events.
  • Opportunities to meet other people and families who share your love and concern for the great outdoors.

Membership contributions and donations help fund:

  • Environmental education programs on and off the Reserve.
  • The greenhouse and Butterfly House.
  • The development of exhibits.
  • Purchase of recreational equipment such as skis and snowshoes.
  • Workshops, concerts, special programs and speakers.
  • Scholarships for area students to attend environmental training and workshops.
